Social Networking


 Social networks serve different purpose for different people and are commonly classified as either personal like Facebook and Twitter or professional networks that include LinkedIn being the most popular professional site since 2003. In Article "Social Networking Technology Boosts Job Recruiting "  Frank Langfitt  talks how  Professional recruiters using Social Networks like LinkedIn  hunting for job candidates.
Privacy is one of the issues in Social Networks Taking an example, Sharing photo is a common feature of many social network site allows users to upload their photos to share with friends or to public. Unfortunately, sometimes it is not a safe to share photo with others. Not only can photos be stolen and used by strangers, but many photos, especially those taken by phones or devices with GPS technology, contain tags that reveal their location. The Article” Who Cares About Facebook Privacy? Students Do” states most Facebook users modified their privacy settings at least once per year.

  1. I can add to yorur post also that our social networking profiles are check not only by our friends, but also by potential employers. Potential employers know that by viewing someone’s profile they can see the truth character of the recruiter. People often think that only friends have access to profile, so they post inappropriate pictures for instance when they are drunk, or some offensive opinions. Potential employers can see what kind of person you really are. So many recruiters reject a candidate based on what they found online.People should not public their religious and political views, disclose that you are pregnant, or reveal the ethnicity. Because of that information, you can be a victim of discrimination and not be hired.
