The Next New Thing

When we are traveling to other countries, the most annoying thing is communication barrier. I thing a great type of new thing would be smart wearable devices. I propose it has two small devices, one that wear on hand and combine with smart phone and translator. The other one wear on your neck for speaking. The device you wear is for receiving and translating then when you speak the neck device will speak the local language for you.  Therefore wherever you travel to you don’t need to worry about language barrier, and of course  the smart device  will allow  you online shopping, chatting, and GPS.

P2P File Sharing

File sharing is exchanged files between computers through internet or networks. P2P is a type of decentralized and distributed network architecture  that allows a group of computer users with the same networking program to connect with each other and directly access files from one another's hard drives. Some examples of P2P such as BitTorrent , Napster, LiveStation etc. According to the article “Should Online Scofflaws Be Denied Web Access?” by Eric Pfanner, while file sharing by peer-to-peer networks appeared to be leveling off globally, sites that offered alternatives to downloading, like streaming of pirated movies, were growing fast and the Private bay has caused American entertainment of $20 billion a year in sales.

Privacy & Confidentiality

As social network website like Facebook, Flicker, and twitter are getting more and more in popularity and users continue tagging their photos, privacy issue is main concern for these social communities because it is important for user to have a safe and comfortable environment.

Sharing photo is a common feature of many social network sites and it allows users to upload their photos to share with friends or to public. Unfortunately, sometimes it is not a safe to share photo with others, not only can photos be stolen and used by strangers, but many photos, especially those taken by phones or devices with GPS technology, contain tags that reveal their location, which means viewers can figure out where exactly they were snapped. In other words, it is easy to gather the photo’s owner information such as where he/she lives and what is he/she hobby.
